Career Day 2026

We wrapped up the last term with Career Day 2026! In collaboration with the Berufsbildende Schule des Landkreises Kaiserslautern (BBS) in Landstuhl, we transformed our school into a dynamic hub for our upper secondary students to explore their future paths and ambitions.

Following the official opening by Mayor Mattia de Fazio and Mayor Dr. Peter Degenhardt, the event became a vibrant platform for discussion and inspiration.

Here is a closer look at what our students experienced:

Interactive Panels:

The "Future of Work" panel, moderated by Dr. Peter Guckenbiehl, explored how digitalization is reshaping industries. Experts like Prof. Dr. Dieter Rombach and Dr. Carolin Sator shared perspectives on emerging tech and the importance of adaptability. Our second panel, led by Inken Schuba, highlighted the strength of Germany’s dual education system. Experts, including Rainer Habermann from the BVMW, emphasized how local networks and hands-on training are key drivers of career success.

Exhibition Fair:

The hall was packed! Students explored academic paths with RPTU, University of Mainz, HS Kaiserslautern, and htw saar. Public service was represented by the Bundeswehr, while the DRK, Caritas, and the Paritätischer highlighted social professions and gap year (FSJ) opportunities. We also welcomed the IHK Pfalz, Rosario Therapy Center, and 3DDruckByTeufel to showcase the business and health sectors.

Hands-on Discovery:

Students got practical! Many joined the "Talent Compass" workshop with Peggy Stapel to analyze their strengths or gained vocational experience at the Chamber of Crafts (HWK) booth.

The "Parent Exchange":

A huge thank you to our ISW parents who shared "A day in the life of..." stories. These authentic insights are always a student favorite and provide a realistic look at potential futures.

Together, these activities offered our students more than just info—they provided real orientation. Career Day 2026 showed how meaningful dialogue between students, industry experts, and policymakers can empower the next generation to confidently shape their future.
