Early Years Ice Experiments

Winter is a great time to do some science experiments. Since the beginning of the school year, Early Years has been noticing and observing the different weather patterns and their changes. After last week's snowfall, the children gathered to discuss what they already knew about the snow and shared their ideas about how snow forms and what happens to it after falling.

As a way to clarify their thoughts about what happens to the snow after falling, the children went outside to collect snow and observe what happens when we bring it inside the room.

Throughout the day, the children would sporadically observe the snow slowly melting until it turned completely into water.

The children recorded their observations by drawing the results and writing words such as water, ice, or snow on their works.
