Focus on community for Years 1 and 2

In Y1/Y2 we have started talking about communities and community helpers. Our central idea is "Our local community supports our needs." We have been talking about the people in the community that help and how we can be helpers. We will be taking a trip to the mayor's office to learn more about our Ramstein community and will have a visit by the Special Forces Unit from the air base (shhhh, this one is a surprise!).

We also love GoNoodle which has awesome videos that get kids moving. LP’s are learning about the parts of the heart, greater than, less than and equal to, in these videos. Earlier this week, we created some 3D art to go along with our read aloud book, “James and the Giant Peach”. Our book is getting very exciting! and the students can't wait to find out where James will end up.
