LANDSTUHL — A vibrant atmosphere of joy, cultural exchange, and international camaraderie transformed the campus grounds of International School Westpfalz (ISW) as families, staff, and distinguished guests gathered for the school's annual SchulFest, held this year in the spirit of a traditional German Oktoberfest.

Commemorative Canvas Marks a Milestone

The evening started with a collaborative community art project designed to leave a lasting legacy. Students, faculty members, Head of School Jodi Fillingame, and visiting Dukes Education Chairman Aatif Hassan gathered to create a commemorative hand-painted canvas. Each participant added a colorful handprint to the collective design, symbolizing unity, shared purpose, and the school’s bright future within the Dukes Education network. The finished artwork will be permanently displayed in the main school hall as a tribute to the milestone occasion.

The afternoon festivities immersed visitors in regional German culture, featuring live performances by a traditional brass band that set an energetic tone throughout the day. Festival-goers enjoyed classic German culinary staples, including warm dampfnudeln, freshly baked pretzels, and traditional wurst. Younger students were kept entertained with thematic creative activities, including pretzel-crafting stations and a bouncy castle set up on the school lawns.
