Learning German in a fun and meaningful way

Learning a foreign language can be quite a challenging task for International students, particularly when the level of language ability within a class varies greatly.

At ISW, German is taught is a fun and meaningful way to all age and ability ranges. Here are a number of examples of our styles of teaching.

Lower Primary has been learning German verbs in an outside setting. They played "Simon sagt" or (“Simon says”) where they got to experience different German verbs in an engaging and playful way.

For other Lower Primary students, a German treasure hunt provided huge amounts of fun. They became quite competitive trying to solve the different German tasks in order to find the treasure. Students had to follow the clues all around school and searched for clues in the library, the cafeteria and their class rooms - all in German!

Older students have been engaging in augmented reality. Augmented Reality (AR) is an interactive experience that combines the real world and computer-generated content. Content can span multiple sensory and is therefore of great benefit for educational use.
