Welcome to IS Westpfalz

We are delighted to welcome you to the International School Westpfalz (ISW).

Based in a beautiful historical building in Landstuhl, Germany (West Palatine Region), the International School Westpfalz (ISW) is a coeducational, full-day international school for children aged 4–18 years. At ISW we pride ourselves on combining the world-renowned, internationally recognized Cambridge Programs with elements from the esteemed Swiss education group, SBW Haus des Lernens whereby curriculum follows passion. With around 210 students from over 30 nations, ISW offers our International community a caring, family orientated atmosphere that ensures exceptional educational pathways for all Learning Partners through seamless transitions from Early Years through to A Levels.

Contact School

Making the first contact with the school via email or phone. During this stage of the process, you will receive all the required documents to be completed and submitted to progress to the first interview. We are always available by phone and email to answer any further questions you may have this point.

Initial interview

After the first point of contact we invite you personally or virtually to get to know each other. Here, the focus is on personal exchange and all the questions you may have regarding the total development of each child and the resources that the International School Westpfalz can provide.

If you are attending in person, this interview will be followed by a tour around the school in the company of the School Principal.

Admissions

A

Early Years – Primary Years
(ages 4-12)

Admissions to our pre-school or Primary Years, is possible at any time depending on the capacity of the school. Prior to starting, all students (Learning Partners) must participate in a trial week. This trial week is aimed at familiarizing your child to the school and their surrounding environment.

Before the final stage of admission, the school must receive all documents (e.g. previous report cards and confidential report).

B

Secondary Years (ages 12-18)

Depending on the availability of places and the grade (Years 10 and 12 are exceptional circumstances due to the two-year programme being implemented), starting at secondary school is possible at any time. Prior to starting, all students (Learning Partners) must participate in a trial week. This trial week is aimed at familiarizing your child to the school and their surrounding environment and ensuring a best-fit for their academic level. A final interview with both the School Principal and head of secondary finalizes this process.

This is the final stage of the process where upon signing the contract, you will be informed of the date when your child can start. Throughout each stage of the process we will keep in touch with you and upon arrival of new students, our staff are here to make their start welcoming from day one.
