Official Opening Ceremony of International School Westpfalz in Landstuhl a huge success
The International School Westpfalz officially celebrated it’s opening in Landstuhl on Thursday 2nd February together with the association “ZukunftsRegion Westpfalz” and officials of our local community whom were predominantly involved in the start-up of the school.
The International School Westpfalz not only offers children a modern, international environment conducive to learning, but also represents an important location factor in the West Palatinate region.
After the guests were warmly welcomed in the impressive chapel (which reminded our guests of a particular film-set), there were a few short speeches from those responsible for the ISW project namely; Dr. Clev, managing director of the association ZukunftsRegion Westpfalz, which has supported the project from the beginning until today, Dr. Klaus Weichel, Lord Mayor of Kaiserslautern in his function as deputy chairman of the ZRW and Reto Ammann, CEO and general manager of the SBW House of Learning AG.
After the opening, visitors were invited to visit the school from the managing directors of International School Westpfalz, Charlotte Ducker and Stuart Rich. The building, which was built in 1852 and at that time served as a nunnery for the Bishop of Weis Foundation, has been thoroughly renovated and redesigned to accommodate the International School and provides a unique learning environment.
Around 200 students and 40 teachers from many different countries, such as the USA, Italy, Portugal and Korea, are currently attending the International School.
