Practicing Quadratics – practical solutions by year 9
Year 9 have spent a few weeks focusing on the topic of Quadratics (factorizing, solving, graphing etc.) and speed, distance and time graphs. The aim of our students was to try and establish a link between these mathematical topics and the projectile motion from physics. The year 9s were split into different groups to undertake these experiments both externally and internally.
Meanwhile in Chemistry, our Year 9 students have been studying plant nutrition. This involved undertaking practical work to test a variety of leaves for the presence of starch which would indicate that the process of photosynthesis was taking place. Our budding scientists had a great time undertaking these experiments in our new lab.
