End of the year residential trip to Paris

Year 5 and 6 had an amazing time in Paris visiting the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, Disneyland and many more incredible sites. Claire, our art teacher was able to do some art lessons and had them sketching some of the wonderful sites they saw.

Practicing Quadratics – practical solutions by year 9

Year 9 have spent a few weeks focusing on the topic of Quadratics (factorizing, solving, graphing etc.) and speed, distance and time graphs. The aim of our students was to try and establish a link between these mathematical topics and the projectile motion from physics. The year 9s were split into different groups to undertake these experiments both externally and internally.

Science update in our year 7’s and 8’s

Our Year 7’s and 8’s have been testing how reactive different metals are. The samples included magnesium, zinc, iron and copper. Students had to observe the reactions of the metals to determine the most vigorous reaction and hence the most reactive metal. All observations had to be accurately recorded. Congratulations to everyone for doing a great job.

3000 Euros raised for charity by ISW’s Run 4 peace Event

It is with great pride that we can announce the success of last weekend’s Run 4 Peace event. We had a great number of students and parents alike come down to Seewoog to support and run their respective distances, or help in any way they could. ISW have so far raised over 3000 euros for different charities supporting families fleeing conflict throughout the world, as well as those whom have arrived right here in Ramstein/Landstuhl.

Early Years and Reception update

Early Years have been working on looking at numbers on a number line. We look what comes before and after a number and where it is located on the line. We are working daily on our sounds and blending them to make simple words. We have also come back to rhyming and are reading poems and stories that have rhyming words. Next week our class will be focusing upon Spring and growth.

Opening of our new Cafeteria and Library – Landstuhl

Our lovely new cafeteria and library in Landstuhl are now ready for use and the LPs have already started to use these wonderful new facilities. Our students are already thoroughly enjoying the unique experience of lunching in the converted church.

Year 2 bakery trip

Year 2 took a trip to the bakery as part of their German lessons. Not only was this good for developing their German skills, but also a great opportunity of enjoying the local culinary delights.

On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!!!

ISW’s traditional Sports Day, which encourages fair play and being balanced, took place in Ramstein on October 27 and proved to be a fun-filled event!
