ARTWORK | HERITAGE

BY YEAR 5 STUDENTS

Exhibit 1

For our part of the exhibition, we became photographers and architects of our Heritage. We explored our home in Landstuhl with our cameras, taking black-and-white photos of our school.

Because our school is a historic building that once served as an orphanage and has its own chapel, we took our photos in the same way people did a long time ago to honor the foundation and the stories of this place.

We worked in pairs to create our paintings, using yarn to show how we are linked together.

Exhibit 2

We also built a 3D model of our school, where we used yarn to show that we are one community in one place. The yarn represents the "invisible links" that connect the children who were here many years ago to all of us today.

To us, Heritage means that even though time passes, we are all woven into the same story. We are the new threads that keep our community’s history alive.
