PHYSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE

Inspired by students’ own reflections on leaving their home, arriving in Germany, and the experiences that followed, this Year 7 performance group weaves together themes of uncertainty, resilience, connection, and belonging.

Using the medium of physical theatre, they have developed a series of symbolic movements that represents each of their stories. The rope serves as a symbolic thread throughout the performance, where it is used to both pull characters away from the familiarity of their old lives, and bind them together as they find connection, belonging, and community in a new place.

A SHORT FILM MADE BY OUR STUDENT

Our Year 8 student, Reese Tilman, has spent the last several months bringing a creative vision to life, serving as the screenwriter, producer, and director of a short film. While Reese spearheaded the project with the goal of becoming a professional director, the production became a true school-wide collaboration, featuring a cast and crew of her classmates and students across various year groups.

We invite you to join us for the official premiere in the Library (upstairs) during the exhibition. Witnessing our students take such professional initiative is a highlight of the term, and we hope you’ll take a moment to support Reese and her team as they showcase their hard work on the big screen.

FEATURED STUDENTS

Explore the works of our featured Year 9 and Year 10 students and how their artistic visions intertwined with the theme of the Arts & Culture Exhibition WEAVE.

FEATURED ARTIST: Samantha Kosakowski

INTERACTIVE DEMO | Cyanotype Photography

Cyanotype, also known as sun printing, is a 19th-century photography process using sunlight and chemicals to develop an image on paper, fabric, and other materials. Once the image is developed, it creates a vibrant Prussian Blue color. The demonstration incorporates fresh flowers, fabric, stencils and found objects to create unique images. Each participant will create a mini-print to take home.
